Fairy Tales / The Captive Maiden

Wouldn't it be fun to wear a dress like Gisela in the book cover below? I know it would be highly impractical on a day to day occasion; dishes, housekeeping, and other stuff would be hard to do in such a pretty dress. But just once in a while it would be awesome to be able to pull something this gorgeous out of the your closet. Oh well, I guess that's what a Pinterest board is for; my imaginary and dream closet that I'll probably never have.

Anyway... Hope you all have a great week.
Book Title: The Captive Maiden
Series: Book 4 of the Hagenheim / Fairy Tale Romance
Author: Melanie Dickerson

Description:
Happily Ever After... Or Happily Nevermore?

Gisela's childhood was filled with laughter and visits from nobles such as the duke and his young son. But since her father's death, each day has been filled with servitude to her stepmother. So when Gisela learns the duke's son, Valten--the boy she has daydreamed about for years--is throwing a ball in hopes of finding a wife, she vows to find a way to attend, even if it's only for a taste of a life she'll never have. To her surprise, she catches Valten's eye. Though he is rough around the edges, Gisela finds Valten has completely captured her heart. But other forces are bent on keeping the two from falling further in love, putting Gisela in more danger than she ever imagined.

My Review:
The Captive Maiden is a Christian Cinderella story with different twists in the plot then that of Disney's Cinderella. Gisela was a perfect match for Valtan, whom we've met in the previous books. I think Valtan is one of my most favorite guy character in this series. He's tough but yet sensitive. I liked that only Gisela could make him light up. This book was full of adventure and intrigue, and of course, a fun romance.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
